New Britain, CT Sports Hall of Fame

 

     The New Britain , CT. Sports Hall of Fame distinguishes the city's leading athletic figures and personalities during the period 1850 to the present.  It includes such "giants" as Walter J. Camp, the "Father of American Football;" two-time welterweight boxing champion Jack Britton, Thomas J. Lynch, a past President of baseball's National League, Harry Jacunski, Willie Hall, Tommy Myers, George Sulima and Ed Cody, all of whom starred in the National Football League, Dick Siderowf, who won two British Amateur Golf Championships and many other titles, John Castellani, a one-time coach of the National Basketball Association Lakers, Rod Foster, an NBA star with the Phoenix Suns, Former NCAA President John Toner, and Nick Tronsky, whose laurels included being recognized as the No. 1 duckpin bowler in the country.

    Selection to the New Britain Sports Hall of Fame is based on merit alone.  

    Inductees are honored at a dinner, held annually in April.
