All-time city of New Britain basketball luminary, as both a player and coach.....star on New Britain High School's 1948-49 and 1949-50 Class "A" state championship teams.....captain, 1948-49, 1949-50 teams; posted record per-game scoring average 17.1, and most field goals in one season, 173, 1949-50; also highest two-season point total, 654, 1948-49, 1949-50; named to 1949-50 Class "A" All-State team.....Korean War veteran, CCSU graduate, 1959.....winning coach at virtually every level, high school, junior college, NCAA Division II (head coach, University of Tennessee at Martin), NCAA Division I (head coach, University of New Orleans); Olympics, assistant coach, 1977 Australia team.
