Dan Gorman

Daniel F. Gorman was a tremendous all-around athlete at both New Britain High and Teachers College of Connecticut, which is now Central Connecticut State University.

He left his mark at both institutions, playing for two of New Britain's all time coach greats, Charles "Chick" Shea and Harrison J. Kaiser.

But he didn't just play for those two great coaches.  He was a leader on and off the field and the basketball court.  In fat he was the captain of the first unbeaten football team in CCSU history, the proud 1939 squad.

He was also a cagy and productive basketball player.  He led TCC in scoring twice and was named to the All-New England team in 1940.

A true patriot, Dan Gorman saw action with "Uncle Sam's" team in both World War II and Korea.  He held the rank of colonel when he retired from military service.
