Champion amateur golfer and pocket billiards player.....in golf, was two-time winner of the New England Publinx Championship, 1933 and 1935, and runner-up in three others.....National semi-finalist, 1938; state amateur runner-up, 1938.....victories included the Rockledge and Shenecossett Invitationals, the Connecticut State Amateur Seniors Tournament, and club championships at Stanley (3), Rockledge (2) and Wethersfield, among many others.....also, was four-time city of New Britain titleholder.....water fountain at Stanley commemorates his outstanding play and accomplishments.....was Connecticut's pocket billiards champion on several occasions in the 1920's.....died in 1955.
