Outstanding football player at both New Britain High School and the University of Connecticut.....was All-State running back on the 1942 State Championship NBHS powerhouse.....2-way player at UConn, 1946-49, teammates included Walt Dropo, later a power-hitting first baseman for the Boston Red Sox.
