Major basketball figure, both as a player and coach.....All-American at Central Connecticut State University, co-captain of the 1967-68 and 1968-69 teams.....first Blue Devil player to score 1,000 points (1,145) and pull down 1,000 rebounds (1,040).....accomplished both in three seasons.....was draft choice of the American Basketball Association's Carolina Cougars.....assistant basketball coach at UConn, 1982-1996, played major role in elevation of Huskies' program.....CCSU's head coach, 1996-2003, took 1999-2000 and 2001-2002 teams to NCAA Division I National Tournament.....received Connecticut Sportswriters Alliance Gold Key in 1996, is a member of the New England Basketball Hall of Fame, the Connecticut High School Coaches Association's Hall of Fame, the CCSU Athletic Hall of Fame, the Cheshire Academy Athletic Hall of Fame, and the city of Norwich Sports Hall of Fame.
