John Bagdasarian
John played both fullback and linebacker on New Britain High's 1950 football team and led the golden Hurricanes in scoring while gaining 734 yards on 119 carries.
The future New Britain Corporation Counsel was also a member of the NBHS track team. John earned All-State recognition in football and also won the prestigious James "Unk" Conley Award, earmarked each season for the school's top football senior. He also played two years of football for teh Harvard Crimson.
John's brother Ara Bagdasarian, who was inducted into the New Britain Sports Hall of Fame in 2002, won the Conley Award two years after John. This makes the Bagdasarians the only Conly award winning brothers in the Hall of Fame.
