Well-respected in athletics, both as a player and coach...outstanding football player at New Britain High School and the Teachers College of Connecticut (CCSU) ...played tackle on 1935, 1936 and 1937 NBHS teams...captain, honorable mention all-state in '37..also played baseball for Red and Gold...tackle on three TCC football teams, member of unbeaten and untied 1939 Blue Devils (6-0)...catcher on two baseball teams...U.S. Army WWII Veteran, 1942-45..head baseball coach, New London Bulkeley High School, 1951, assistant football coach, 1950....head football coach Meriden High School, 1952-53...died in 1984.
