Outstanding football and fast-pitch softball player.....starting quarterback on New Britain High School's 1953 football team, and went on to play at semi-pro level.....starred on a number of area fast-pitch softball teams, including American Hardware and the vaunted Northwestern Vets.....was an outfielder on American Hardware's 1960 team which defeated the Seamless Manufacturing Company of New Haven, 6-5, for the State Industrial League Fast-Pitch Softball Championship.....well-regarded football official for many years.
