Mike Prairie
Mike has been involved with football for virtually his entire adult life. As dedicated as he was gifted, Mike was a four-sport star at Pulaski High School having run track, played basketball and football and captained the 1973 PHS baseball team his senior year.
Mike continued his career at Brown. As a junior he was named to the All-Ivy League first team and All-ECAC second team. The following year he earned All-Ivy recognition and was also named to the Associated Press All-New England, All-East and All-ECAC teams after leading Brown to its first ever Ivy League championship. Overall, Brown was 19-3-1 with Prairie as a starter.
He also had a fine high school and youth coaching career. He was the head coach at Pulaski in 1980 and was an assistant football coach at Windsor High 1981-86 and at Southington High 1994-2007 - including four state finalist teams and the Blue Knights 1998 State Championship team. He was voted the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year in 2003.
