Star basketball player on New Britain High School teams from 1942 to 1944, and gained All-State honors and All-New England Honorable Mention.....also played football for the red and gold.....following World War II service, was basketball standout at Arnold College and with other area teams.....very successful coaching career included two (2) State Championship basketball teams, 1958-59, and 1960-61, at Plainville High School, and runner-ups in both 1961-62 and 1962-63.....served as an assistant on men's basketball coaching staff at CCSU.....was inducted into Connecticut High School Coaches Association's Hall of Fame in 1991, and the New Britain Sports Hall of Fame in 1996.
