Outstanding football figure as both a player and coach.....Connecticut All-State guard on New Britain High School's 1936 State Championship team, then went on to further stardom at the Teachers College of Connecticut (now Central Connecticut State University).....co-captain of 5-1-2 Blue Devils in 1947.....NBHS head football coach for 20 years, 1957-1976; teams compiled a 138-43-6 record over that period and won 2 State Championships.....received Gold Key from Connecticut Sportswriters Alliance in 1982, was inducted into the New Britain Sports Hall of Fame in 1996
