Terrific baseball player during New Britain's "golden athletic years" prior to and following World War II.....hard-hitting third baseman for such teams as the Cremos, New Britain Machine, Fafnir and the Savitt Gems.....led powerful New Britain Machine clubs to Industrial League Championships.....was offered contract by American League's St. Louis Browns.....top golfer, state golf association's senior titlist in 1963, 1964 and 1973.....with wife Helen, won CSGA mixed laurels several times.....first golf coach at St. Thomas Aquinas High School.....died in 1985.....Inducted in 1999.
