Walter "Wally" Bonola
Well-regarded middleweight fighter.....fought in amateur ranks from 1931 to 1937, and had 19 professional fights after that.....gave something back by being boxing coach for the St. John the Evangelist Church Boys' Brigade, and also helped coach in the Police Athletic League (PAL) program.....was inducted into the VFW Walter J. Smith Post 511 Sports Hall of Fame in 1961.....member of the New Britain Sports Hall of Fame since 1996..
